GREENVILLE (CBSDFW.COM) – Officers with the FBI and Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office will be aiding the Greenville Police Department in a ‘neighborhood canvas’ of the area where Alicia Moore disappeared two weeks ago.

According to a city release, officers will be talking to people and stopping vehicles in the area to ask questions in an attempt to gain more information in the ongoing investigation.

Moore, 16, went missing on Friday, Nov.2 and was last seen getting off a school bus about a half block from her Greenville home. Her body was discovered on Nov. 6, stuffed in a trunk that was dumped in Wills Point, about 45 minutes away from Greenville.

Police have not revealed if they have any suspects in the case.

Alicia Moore’s aunt, Jessica Byrd, is glad that local authorities are bringing in reinforcements.

“It’s probably tough for the city of Greenville because they have no people experienced with things like this,” said Byrd.

The family previously expressed frustration that the investigation has not yielded any significant leads. Byrd echoed that sentiment on Friday.

“They could have gave us a warning or some kind of clue that they were going to do a little door-to-door search today,” said Byrd. “All this stuff is coming late. Everything they’ve been doing is late, late, late. And it’s like really ticking me off.”
