FORT WORTH (AP) – A North Texas man with a history of assault faces up to life in prison after being convicted of killing a woman who had let him stay with her.
The penalty phase resumes Tuesday in Fort Worth for 34-year-old Frank Byrd. The Fort Worth man was convicted Friday of murder in the January fatal shooting of 39-year-old Hilary Eaton.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports prosecutors say the pair had argued and Byrd was paranoid after sleepless days on a methamphetamine binge. Further details on the dispute were not immediately available.
Byrd’s former girlfriend at times also stayed at the Eaton home.
Byrd’s criminal record includes convictions for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated sexual assault of a child.
